Brookfield students celebrate Excellent GCSE results
Students and staff at Brookfield Community School are celebrating after another year of excellent GCSE results.
Students at Brookfield Community School have today received their GCSE examination results and have once again performed very impressively. Almost 60% of students achieved a 'strong pass' (grade 5 or above) in both Maths and English, while 79% achieved a standard pass (grade 4 and above) in both. Those achieving a grade 7+ in both English and Maths increased from 14% last year to almost 20%. The results at Brookfield, which is part of the Redhill Academy Trust, follow strong A Level results from last week.
Headteacher, Keith Hirst, stated: ‘This year group have worked incredibly hard throughout the two years of their GCSE courses. Throughout this time, staff have commented on the positive, friendly and conscientious attitude of the group. To achieve the results we see today is a testament to the resilience and determination of this year group, and to the hard work of staff and parents in supporting students. We are again extremely proud of all students who have worked so hard over the past 5 year to achieve such impressive results’.
There are many examples of excellent individual performance. Notable achievements include Millie Hooper-Greenhill who achieved all Grade 9s, Noah Young who achieved eight grade 9s and two grade 8s, Ieuan Hooper who achieved six Grade 9s and Jack Lin, Zara Baker and Layla Drake who each achieved five grade 9s alongside other strong grades. Congratulations to all students receiving their results today for their fantastic commitment and hard work.
