  • BROOKFIELD 'SUMMER SHOWCASE' is BACK!

    Did you miss our 'Summer Showcase' performances during the pandemic?

    We did too! So we're really excited to let you know that Brookfield Community School's Performing Arts Department have now released the tickets for their 'SUMMER SHOWCASE' on Thursday, 21st July from 6.30pm - 9.30pm.

    An evening of song, dance and drama to welcome the summer, beginning with live music and summer refreshments from our BPFA under the willow tree, before moving through to the theatre to watch some amazing performances showcasing the talent of our young people.

  • GCSE and A Level Art & Textiles Exhibition

  • Success for Team Brookfield at the Redhill Summer Games!

    On Wednesday, 15th June Brookfield Community School competed in the Redhill Summer Games held at Tupton Hall School. This event involved 8 different schools from across the Redhill Academy Trust, and we had teams of students from Years 7 and 8 competing in a variety of sporting competitions including a multi discipline athletics, rounders and rowing.

    There were some excellent performances from individual students on the day and all competitors were a credit to our school. The boys and girls athletics teams came 1st in their respective competitions, the boys and girls rowing teams came 2nd in their competitions and the rounders team came 4th.

  • Celebrating Dance in Chesterfield

    Tickets are now on sale for the annual Chesterfield Secondary Schools Dance Platform at The Winding Wheel on Tuesday, 14th June at 7pm. Organised by the SHAPE Learning Partnership, this event will bring Year 7-11 students together from 11 secondary schools to celebrate dance and the pieces they have been working on through the year.

  • Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations at Brookfield

    Preparations are well under way for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations at Brookfield on Friday, 6th May.

    In the morning, we are looking forward to welcoming a number of special dignitaries visiting our school for a Tree Planting Ceremony and Tour of Brookfield including, the Vice-Lord Lieutenant of Derbyshire, Colonel John Wilson, Deputy Lieutenant & Lead for the Queen's Green Canopy initiative, Brell Ewart, President of the Old Cestrefeldians' Society, John Drabble and Trustee of the Old Cestrefeldians' Trust, Tony Hine.

    We hope the weather is kind to us so we can continue our celebrations out on the school field with a Queen's Platinum Jubilee Picnic for students and staff from 2-3pm.

    Students will have lunch as normal and then everyone will head to the school field during P5 where everyone will gather for a picnic. Each student will be asked to bring in something yummy to share with their fellow Form students.

    **Please note that Brookfield are celebrating this special event in May due to exams taking place in June**

  • Learning Support Garden shortlisted by Dobbies!

    We've had some fantastic news from Dobbies 🙂

    Did you know that Brookfield Community School has a wonderful Learning Support Garden that is used for all kinds of activities to support our students learning, wellbeing and mental health? Our Youth Award Group are making bird boxes to encourage more wildlife into the garden and others have been busy pruning and planting for the summer ahead!

    Our Learning Support Garden, looked after by members of our school community, has recently been shortlisted as one of Dobbies 'Helping Your Community Grow' groups!

    We'd love to win the £500 prize to help give the garden some much needed TLC so we can make the space available to more students wanting a place to enjoy some time out in nature to support their wellbeing during the warmer months.

  • Easter Holiday Upcycling Competition

    ** EASTER HOLIDAY UPCYCLING COMPETITION **

    British designer and up cycler, Max McMurdo (www.maxmcmurdo.co.uk) has set our students a design challenge to stretch their imagination and creativity over the Easter holidays.

    The challenge is to take an old product at home and upcycle it into something new.

    Deadline date is Monday, 25th May.
