Study Areas

When students have non-contact periods on their timetable, they can use one of the following areas to study:

Senior Library

Location: Middle floor

Open: 8 am– 3.55pm

Study Type: Silent

Resources: Wide selection of books and a suite of computers with a Library printer

Expectations: Mobile phones can be used for work related purposes or listening to music through earphones whilst studying. No eating or drinking allowed.

The Hive

Location: Top floor

Open: 8am - 3.55pm

Study Type: Quiet talk and group work

Resources: A suite of computers and a printer

Expectations: Mobile phones can be used for work related purposes or listening to music through earphones whilst studying. No hot food should be eaten in the room and all rubbish should be placed in the bins provided.

 

 

The Hub (Sixth Form Common Room)

Location: Canteen

Open: 8am-2.55pm

Study Type: Relaxed

Resources: Food and drinks available all day

Expectations: Mobile phones can be used for work related purposes or listening to music through earphones whilst studying. It is not intended that students spend all of their study periods in this area. All rubbish must be placed in the bins provided.

 

IT Rooms

Location: G3, G4, G5, G6 and H2

Open: During lesson times (at discretion of member of staff teaching in the room) and lunchtime

Study Type: Quiet work at lunch. Silent work if a class is on.

Resources: Computers and a printer

Expectations: Students should respect the equipment and the staff/students in the room. NO eating or drinking is allowed in the IT rooms. Mobile phones can be used for work related purposes or listening to music through earphones whilst studying.

Picnic Benches

Location: Around the school grounds

Open: All year round but primarily in the Summer and Autumn Term (weather permitting)

Study Type: Group and independent

Resources: Fresh air

Expectations: Be aware and respectful of classes going on around you. All rubbish must be placed in bins provided. Mobile phones can be used for work related purposes or listening to music through earphones whilst studying.
